Why Gilbert Arenas is my Hero

From Dan Steinberg of the D.C. Sports Bog

During his first year in D.C. he gave two pairs of his shoes and a basketball to a sporting goods store in exchange for a whole box of all-star ballots. Then he filled them all out.

“I was like, ‘I know I can be a starter,” he said. “I was out there filling them out….Just a whole box. I was out there filling: me, Larry, Antawn, me, Larry, Antawn, me, Larry, Antawn, me, Larry, Antawn.”

Gilbert filling out his own ballots? That’s comedy. But Arenas goes on to say in the article that a lot of players do it! Great stuff.

BTW, if you haven’t done so already, check out the D.C Sports Bog for the latest and greatest on the Wizards and all Washington D.C sports. Unlike me, Dan Steinberg actually has access to Gilbert and the rest of the Wizards.
