Gilbert vs. D’Antoni Part II

Tonight marks Part II of Gilbert Arenas vs. Mike D’Antoni. Even though Gilbert said his next 50 point victim would be Nate McMillan and the Portland Trailblazers on Feb. 11th, his statement he made after being cut by the Team USA could still apply.

“I’m going to be the silent assassin this year. I can’t wait to play the Suns and Portland. Against Portland, Nate McMillan, I’m going to try to score 100 in two games and against D’Antoni, I’m going to score 100 in two games. I’m going to try.”

Since he scored 54 last game, he technically only needs to score 46 to score 100 against D’Antoni and the Suns. When asked if he would continue his silent assassin on the Suns, Gilbert said:

“No, I already did what I said I was going to do to them. The next team is Portland. One down, one to go.”

It’s likely the Suns will attempt to focus on Gilbert more and play some sort of defense. Nonetheless, it will be fun watching the MVP of the West against the MVP of the East.
