Gilbert Arenas vs. DeShawn Stevenson

Posted by gilbertology on February 2nd, 2007 in News · Videos

Not only does Gilbert talk the talk but he walks the walk. On his latest blog, Gilbert writes about practicing for the 3-point shootout and how he has been making bets around the team because there’s a couple guys on this team that said they’re better shooters than him from the college three-point line. About DeShawn Stevenson:

I told him that I’d shoot with one-hand from college three better than he can shoot with both hands from NBA three.

He really doesn’t want to make that bet. He keeps brushing it off.

Well after today’s practice, not only did they square off, but it was for $20,000. The challenge was simple, Gilbert would take 100 one-handed college three-pointers (10 from 5 spots around the arch and back) while DeShawn takes 100 two-handed NBA three-pointers. Agent Zero ended up with 73 baskets. Stevenson had a chance to tie on his final 10 shots but missed his 6th one and left the court angry.

Thanks to wizardsdotcom for posting a video of the event. Dan Steinberg also sums up all the details on his blog and Ivan Carter also has the scoop on Gilbert’s 3 point challenges.

Gilbert should win the All-Star 3-point shootout with 1 hand… hopefully JJ Redick is in it too so Agent Zero can get some revenge on Coach K by destroying him in the contest! hahaha that video is JOKES! an easy $20,000… anyone else wanna challenge the hibachi?
