Again, both of these feature Gilbert Arenas, the NBA Live coverboy, along with Kevin Durant who’s going to be on the cover of March Madness ‘08. From the looks of it, I’m pretty sure that these commercials were filmed in the Great Western Forum, where the Lakers played before moving into the Staples Center. Expect to be bombarded with these commercials come draft night, much like EA Sports did with the NFL Draft:

Over at Database Basketball they have a feature called the HOF Monitor which tries to determine a player’s chances of making the Hall of Fame based on these criteria:

75 points for each NBA MVP award

15 points for each All NBA First Team selection

1 point for each point of NBA career Approximate Value and .33 points for each point of ABA career Approximate Value

2.5 points for each point of NBA career Efficiency

3.5 points for each NBA Championship

-20 points for centers and -15 points for forwards

A likely Hall of Famer should have a score around 135 to make it in. For comparison’s sake, Michael Jordan has a HOF score of 731 while current Wizards coach Eddie Jordan has a score of 47, of course Eddie’s score doesn’t factor in his coaching record and Michael’s score doesn’t factor in drafting Kwame Brown. Right now, Gilbert’s score is 83, so he still has a ways to go if he wants to reach HOF territory, but a few first team All-NBA selections and/or an MVP award would help his case immensely. In fact, every NBA MVP eligible for the Hall has already made it in. So if Arenas can someday add “MVP” to his growing resume, you’ll probably find a “Hall of Famer” title soon after it.

I’m contemplating on a Reality TV show. I might do one this summer if ESPN will pick it up.

Featuring the intermingling of the creative, the cultural, the political, and the psychological of Agent Zero himself, Gilbert Arenas. Based on what Gilbert has said and written in the past of what a typical day is in his life, an episode may look something like this:

2:34 AM - Gilbert wakes up and heads to the gym to shoot and workout
3:46 AM - Gilbert takes a nap on the floor
5:10 AM - Gilbert wakes up and works out some more
6:15 AM - Gilbert goes home and sleeps
2:11 PM - Gilbert wakes up and gets a bite to eat
2:45 PM - Gilbert talks to NBA.com about his new blog post
3:17 PM - Gilbert talks to Adidas about his new shoes
3:59 PM - Gilbert rides his bike through downtown Washington
4:31 PM - Gilbert arrives at the gym and shoots some more
6:50 PM - Gilbert plans a practical joke for his newly drafted rookie teammate
8:03 PM - Gilbert heads home and eats
8:40 PM - Gilbert goes on MySpace and replies to his fans
9:18 PM - Gilbert plays Halo on his XBox
11:55 PM - Gilbert goes to bed
