The Bog has a pair of stories about Gilbert today. The first story is jam-packed with all sorts of great Arenas-isms:

• Apparently, Gilbert didn’t sell his house to Nick Young. He’s just renting the house to him, so hopefully that puts some of the fears about him signing elsewhere to rest.
• There’s a quick update on his 100,000 shot conquest, he’s up to 42,000 but says he might stop at 50,000 so he can focus on other aspects of his game (let’s hope defense is somewhere in there).
• A hilarious exchange between Gilbert and another player:

“Ohhh, look at the Muslim,” Gilbert said, loudly.

“That’s so disrespectful,” a team employee admonished.

“Not if he’s Muslim,” Gilbert said.

“I’m just saying, though, he has a name,” the employee said.

“It’s, like, Muhammad,” Gilbert guessed.

“Muhammad’s my middle name,” the newcomer said.

“Obviously,” Gilbert said. “It had to be somewhere.”

The other story involves Gilbert talking with some of the Washington Mystics, including Alana Beard who had a very Hibachi-esque performance last night, scoring 18 points in the final quarter including the game winner. In response to Beard’s outburst, Gilbert said this:

“She went for 18, and then she doesn’t even want to give you a story?” Gilbert said to me. “How you not going give him a story when you went for 18 in the fourth quarter to win the game?”

“That’s a record, right?” Gilbert said. “C’mon girl, give this interview, an exclusive.”

Beard isn’t the only Mystic that emulates Gilbert, Tamara James and Nikki Blue both wear Gil Zeros when they play. Apparently Gilbert’s swag lingers in the Verizon Center long after the season is over.
