Gilbert Scores For Schools Again

Posted by JakeTheSnake on September 17th, 2007 in News

The Gilbert Arenas Scores For Schools Program is back again this year.  In the program, 82 local schools are selected and randomly assigned a game during the regular season.  Gilbert then donates $100 for every point he scores that game to the school who has that game (I have no idea what happened to the schools that had the games where Gilbert was injured, although I’m pretty sure they got something.)   Here’s an excerpt from the press release:

He’s Back… and determined to do more to help area schools. Last season Gilbert Arenas raised $215,000 for public schools throughout the Washington DC Metropolitan Community, through his inaugural program, Gilbert Scores for Schools.  This 3-time All-Star is ready to assist again this year as he pledges to score dollars for more schools. In partnership with the Wizards and his foundation ZeroTwoHero, Gilbert and team owners Abe & Irene Pollin, again will donate $100 per point scored by Gilbert during every Wizards regular season game for the 2007-2008 season.

I am glad to see Gilbert is continuing his philanthropic deeds with the schools again. I was wondering whether or not he would continue this program and glad to see that he is. Lord knows some of these schools can really use this aid. Thanks Gilbert, for your generosity! We love you and hope you and the Wiz have a great season!
