Gil updated his blog today and as always it’s full of great stuff.
He talks about his struggles so far this preseason:
In six months the hibachi grill hasn’t been heated up. It takes a while for the grill to get back cooking again. It’s like riding a bike. Once you start riding again, it’s all good, but right now I’m rusty. I’m trying to get the rust off my bike chain.
Apparently Gilbert has a fear of getting his feet dirty:
I missed the game in Philly because of my toe. It’s a phobia I have. It’s one of the phobias that gives me the Gilbertology or whatever you want to call it. When I was little, whenever I got out of the shower I never wanted to touch the floor because once you touch the floor your feet are dirty again. So in the shower I used to put my socks on already without drying them off. And I had to have a new pair of socks every day. Every time I take a pair of socks off, I have to put a new pair on. A brand new pair. Since I was little I always needed a brand new pair of socks. So I had no clothes, but I had a million pairs of socks. So anyway, what happened in Philly was I was starting to get athlete’s foot from all the moisture that collected from putting my slippers on around the house as soon as I got out of the shower. It started aching me so I had to sit out and let them dry for two days.
He confirms the story about panties he was given by a fan:
It was a little awkward, but it was funny and cute — kind of. In a weird way. That’s something you’re not expecting. You’re expecting to sign a video game and you have a pair of panties on your lap. It was funny.
He clarifies comments he made in an interview with Complex.com:
When I told Complex.com that the L.A., San Antonio, Dallas and Houston would be cities that I would like to play in if I opt out, they all come after D.C. If something did happen weird where Antawn left and we lost our team and it wasn’t a good situation for me to come back, those are the four cities that I would want to play in.
Gilbert also talks about his cartoon, DeShawn’s new tattoo, the 756 shoe that he’s adding to GilIIZero shoe tour (replacing the Coca-Cola version), and a hilarious paintball story that is too hilarious to be excerpted.

GA is 6 flavors of crazy .
I am glad Gil had fun playing paintball with his friends; don’t want to look back and see the issues that Michael Jackson has been facing for the last 35 years.
I knew he would end up with athletes feet if he didn’t dry them first. I guess childhood traumas dictate quirky behavior.
I have been looking forward to the season starting all summer. I hate that I can’t see all the games because I am not purchasing ESPN basketball channel. That is why I look forward to his blogs.
I was disappointed in the fact that he may have children cursing in his new cartoon. I think I hear enough of that kind of language everywhere I go and it would be nice to know that tv shows can survive without it.
