A few months back, Gilbert mentioned that he had an “Unspoken Rivalry” with Chris Paul since they were on dueling video game covers, with Gilbert on NBA Live 08 and Paul on NBA 2K8. Even though it’s not really a rivalry (since rivalries have to be verbal to you know, be a rivalry, despite what the ads would make you think) that doesn’t mean there isn’t some competitiveness in it. This is just an interesting side note. It would’ve been nice if Gilbert Arenas had been able to return against the Hornets - and not just because the Wizards desperately need him. Arenas and Paul have known each other since before the 2005 NBA draft, when Paul worked out at National Cathedral with Arenas.

Arenas and Paul don’t have much of a rivalry on the court, but they both claim to be the league’s best bowler. US Bowler magazine recently ranked the best celebrity bowlers and Orlando Magic all-star center Dwight Howard was the highest-ranking player from the NBA at No. 5. Memphis rookie Mike Conley came in at sixth, Arenas was seventh and Paul was eighth.

Arenas said he was honored to be on the list, but thought he should’ve been higher. “I would win a competition over Chris Paul and Dwight Howard,” said Arenas, who claims to have bowled a 277.

It’s worth noting that he says that he could beat Paul and Howard but he doesn’t say anything about Mike Conley Jr. Based on this video, I can’t say that I blame him for not saying that he could beat him:
