The Optimism Train Keeps Rollin’

Yesterday I told you about what the Wizards’ beat writers felt about Gilbert’s chances of coming back to D.C., today The Washington Times’ Tom Knott adds his two cents:

Arenas and Hughes have stayed in touch over the years, and it is no secret that Hughes regrets to this day his decision to leave the Wizards because of what amounted to silly pride.

Jordan’s system complemented the playing style of Hughes, just as it has benefited Arenas, who became a top-tier star in the nation’s capital.

This is his city now, and although it is a Redskins city, Arenas is the preeminent athlete of the city, a title that can be debated only by Alex Ovechkin.Arenas has put down roots here and recently had a swimming pool installed at his upscale home in Great Falls.

That is not the act of a player looking to skip town.

Wow. I know that we have DeShaun Stevenson as our shooting guard but if Larry Hughes decides to come back to the NBA finals. I dont know why he left in the first place. He should try to persuade the wizards to trade for him.
