The NBA draft lottery is Tuesday and the Wizards have a good shot at one of the top 2 picks. Most draft experts have Blake Griffin , 6-10 sophomore power forward, from Oklahoma and Ricky Rubio, 6-4 point guard, from Spain as the top two prospects.
The Wizards would love to get Griffin, but if they don’t land the #1 pick, how would you feel about a backcourt of Ricky Rubio and Gilbert Arenas? Can they co-exist or would you rather the Wizards draft another player, such as Hasheem Thabeet, Jordan Hill , or James Harden?

I like Rubio and he will be tough but I am not sure we can pass on Thabeet. We don’t need scoring we need defense. If we can’t get Grffin maybe we go big. Hasheem has only been hooping for a few years, he has got to get better and stronger soon. Maybe we can trade that pick for Stoudemire. They might like to get Rubio. Nash is like 40 isn’t he?

I think that they need to let Gilbert run the show. He is going to come back more as a distributer than a scorer like the 2 games that he played this season and I don’t think that it will be good to use a #2 pick as a backup. Ideally, Griffin would be perfect because he could play the 4 in the starting lineup with Gil at the 1, Caron at the 2, Jaminson at the 3, Griffin-4, and Haywood-5, with stevenson and young, blatche and mcgee coming off the bench. Now that’s a championship caliber team if they stay healthy.

The thing with Rubio is, the Wizards already have a young 2 guard with a ton of potential in Nick Young. Obviously Rubio is a little better, but they don’t really need him. Blake Griffin would be perfect because he’s the only player who could start right away for the Wizards at the 4 spot, like d$ said. If they don’t get the first pick then another power forward would be who they want to take.

i think blake is great for the wizards. gilbert can run piont ,blake can be a 3 or 4!! it will be a good season if we get blake!
