Gilbert Arenas wrote a public apology for the Washington Post, focusing a lot of it on children.

That message of nonviolence will be front and center as I try to rebuild my relationship with young people in the D.C. area. I know that won’t happen overnight, and that it will happen only if I show through my actions that I am truly sorry and have learned from my mistakes.
While I regret a lot about this incident, letting the kids down is my biggest regret. I love the time I spend with the kids here in the District, and it means a lot to me whenever I can help lift their spirits or inspire them, especially kids who have difficult lives.
Some people may not forgive me for what I’ve done. But if I help steer even just one young person away from violence and trouble, then I’ll once again feel that I’m living up to Abe Pollin’s legacy and to the responsibility I owe the kids of the District.

Let’s start this off right!
I feel that it was a little to much made of this gun story. First of all the know is the new reporters made a big thing about you bring four guns to the verizon. Then they said that you and a wizard team mate had a bat you had pulled a gun on one of your team mates. Then you, I didn’t know what you call yourself doing but?
I Guest you was proving something? And I can’t forget the famous dance. Please tell me what was that? See what you did that just get more and more confusing more you think about this. Then We get Mr. NBA president of whatever he is come out and make this confusing, by coming out and saying that he was suspended indefinitely.
I said to myself what did he do kill somebody? Then I watch the game and it was a guy playing the wizards that was stopped by police and he was court with four guns and raffle. I’m sorry I just can’t understand wasn’t he suspended. Lord right is right you can’t say like one of the reporter said he’s playing the game to night because he didn’t get smart with the reporters, he dance and shit his team mates.
It shouldn’t matter if you quit or not. I feel that you already help the kids in DC, you showed them know matter how much money a black man have, you do the crime you have to do the time and pay a lot of money. Like we haven’t learned from O’Jay. Leasing to the kids on the buses and trains they understand, they just don’t understand why they trying to take everything you have.
One little boy said this is the thanks you get for all the good thing you do. I couldn’t believe this little boy know so much about you. He must have been one of you big fans. Everyone was riding you at first Gil this and Gil that. I can’t believe he did that. But let you make a mistake, he didn’t lie.
The kids fore give already they know you are human and everybody make mistakes. Keep your head up and keep up the good work. I’m one of your fans to, and what this I hear about you wanting to be traded we need to talk about this at a another time.

Gilbert Arenas I am disappointed for what you have done to the community. You should be a better role model to me and the other fans. I think one of the things you should do next season is that you should say you sorry to me and the other fans.You should get a second chance in the NBA. I forgive you for what you have done. Hi, know Brazil that night for your information that wasn’t suppose to be a essay. I didn’t come from me I had four your kids that teens that had something to say and for you to write that so they can see it. That wasn’t cool, I know you had know way to know ho you commenting to. But sometime you should keep your comments to yourself. Those was thoughts, each person told a story and how they felt. After we read your comment we talked about people like you.
