Gilbert briefly mentions a book by Will Leitch of Deadspin in his latest blog:

Have you seen the new book that came out, God Save the Fan? Will Leitch came out with the book. Thank you Will Leitch! Got to give a shout out to Will Leitch and Deadspin for coming out with the book God Save the Fan. I’m just going to tell you guys to go get the book, because I’m in Chapter 2.

I picked it up today and immediately read the chapter about Gilbert and LeBron. It is definitely an interesting read and even if you don’t want to buy the book, you should at least read the Gilbert chapter (6 pages) at your local bookstore, if you get a chance.

Leitch’s last sentence in the chapter sums it up best:

… in twenty years, when we think of LeBron James, we will think of Gatorade, and when we think of Gilbert Arenas, we will smile and think of ourselves.

Excepted to be available in April and limited to 1000, the shoe has an “ice cold” theme with inspiration from platinum chains and diamond-studded medallions.

The inspiration was actually from Gilbert’s game with a touch of the hood. I wanted the shoe to be able to be worn on your feet or around your neck. Now thanks to Gil’s injury, they can be used on your knee as well. Apply ice every 20-minutes.

No big parties this year as Gilbert recovers from his knee injury but we here at Gilbertology would like to wish Gilbert a very Happy 26th Birthday today.

The Washington Times says Gilbert Arenas is considering sitting out the season, especially if the Wizards can’t do any damage in the playoffs with him.

“If we have a chance to go far in the playoffs with me playing, I’ll say yeah,” Arenas said. “If not, then I’ll go ahead and shut it down. See ya.”

Oly Sandor of HoopsVibe says Gilbert should just sit out the season.

No 3am workouts. No hoisting a thousand jumpers per day. The Wizards, even with Agent Zero, aren’t making the Eastern Conference Finals. Think long-term. Pack this year in Gil. Lose the battle. Win the war.
