Gilbert Arenas is the Sneaker Champion of the NBA

Posted by gilbertology on February 3rd, 2011

LeBron and Kobe have their own Nike shoes. Dwyane Wade represents Team Jordan. Derrick Rose and Dwight Howard run with Adidas. Brandon Jennings is an Under Armour guy. Baron Davis wears a Chinese brand. But when it comes to the sneaker champion, there is only one self proclaimed champ and his name is Gilbert Arenas.

Gilbert Arenas Sneaker Champ

His Sneaker Champ site calls Gilbert the first true sneakerhead and curator of the ultimate shoe collection for the 2010-2011 NBA season. Gilbert decides what he will wear each and every game. Gilbertology is Back!

Posted by gilbertology on October 13th, 2010

Gilbert Arenas Sacrafice

If you haven’t heard by now, Gilbert Arenas sat out the most recent exhibition game because of a “sore knee” but as it turns out, Arenas was perfectly fine and just wanted to give teammate Nick Young some more playing time. Arenas was fined an undisclosed amount by coach Flip Sanders and apologized.

I think Ivan Carter summed it up perfectly:

Gilbertology can’t be stopped. It can’t be slowed down. It can’t be contained. Gilbertology just rolls along in it’s own unpredictable yet oddly predictable pattern. There will be more. Oh brother, there will be more. The question is what? A present in a teammates shoe? Throwing the coach under the bus? Odd interviews about creating a chilren’s cartoon? A card game gone wrong? Stay tuned…..

Check out his post game locker room interview after:

Owner says Gilbert Arenas Not Being Actively Traded

Posted by gilbertology on June 12th, 2010

Gilbert Arenas

If new owner Ted Leonsis is telling the truth, then expect Gilbert Arenas in a Wizards uniform next season, playing alongside #1 pick John Wall. When asked about the possibility of trading Arenas, Leonsis said

“We’re not actively trading him. But I would ask you to put yourself in another general manager’s shoes. He was injured for two years and suspended for a year and he’s a max [contract] player. If you were another team’s general manager, would you be trading for Gilbert Arenas right now?”

Meanwhile, Arenas has been in Chicago to workout with trainer Tim Grover.
